Rooter Technology
The actual rooter mechanism – typically comprised of three blades attached to a cable – is driven by a motor that creates a turning and agitating motion, causing the blades to spin and cut their way through the clogged drain or sewer line. Rooters come in various diameters, accommodating small in-house drains, larger sewer lines and everything in between.
Rooter service vs. Hydro-Jetting
Rooter service is more economical than hydro-jetting. So, if you’re on a budget and have a relatively simple sewer clog, rooter service may be the right option.
However, if you have a repetitive problem or your sewer line has been infiltrated by large root systems, hydro-jetting will provide a free-flowing drain for two to three times longer than a typical rooter application.
